Registration with the Danish DPA System

  • All companies must register with the DPA and provide the necessary information. Recipo cannot perform this registration on behalf of customers due to DPA regulations, but we are glad to assist if you have any questions.
  • After the company is registered you must select Recipo as a “collective scheme” for us to have access and do your reporting.
  • If you are an EU-registered company, you also need to add us as an Authorized Representative (AR).

Authorized Representative (AR)

All EU-registered companies must appoint an AR according to Danish legislation.

  • However, this requirement does not apply to companies registered in Denmark where the DPA does not allow them to appoint an AR.
  • In addition to this the DPA does not allow companies registered outside of Europe to appoint an AR either based on their guidelines.

Reporting POM Figures (Put on market):

  • As a WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) customer, you report your POM figures on your company’s page in Recipo’s reporting portal.
  • Reporting can be done monthly or annually, depending on the number of products you place on the market. In case of monthly reporting, these reports must be completed no later than the 15th day of the month following the reporting period.
  • The final report for the previous year must be completed by January 21st. We then calculate shares and submit this information to the DPA (Danish Environmental Protection Agency) by March 31 each year.

Portable Batteries

– Danish registered companies must report portable batteries via SKAT (Danish Tax and Customs Administration). These reports must be submitted by February 15 each year following the reporting period. SKAT then forwards your report to the DPA.
Note that SKAT will directly invoice your company for your POM cost.
Follow their guidelines for registration and reporting.

– If your company is a foreign-registered entity and also sells portable batteries, you currently do not need to report these in Denmark. Starting from the reporting year 2025, new regulations will require all companies selling batteries to submit reports. Recipo will be available to assist you with this process, as it will no longer be managed through SKAT. Contact us if you would like more information.

Reporting to DPA, Approval, and Verification

– Recipo annually reports your POM figures to DPA before March 31st of the year following the reporting period. After we have completed the report to DPA, it must be approved and verified.

– Recipo handles both the approval and verification processes (management or auditor’s statement) for all customer that we are assigned as Authorized Representative (AR).

– If we are not assigned as your company’s AR you must log in to your DPA account and approve the report by electronically signing a ‘Reporting statement’ before March 31. In addition to this you must verify the report’s accuracy through a management or auditor’s statement, also e-signed via DPA latest by May 31.

– Following this you will receive an email from DPA confirming the completion of your reporting.

Collection of waste

We collect existing amounts of waste and collaborate with our partners to quantify the waste corresponding to our customers’ sales. By analyzing sales data and waste quantities, we calculate our shares of this waste. The waste is then transported to our recycling facilities, where it is meticulously sorted, crushed, and broken down into various components. These components are subsequently sold to manufacturers who use them to create new products. Through this process, we close the loop and contribute to a more sustainable and efficient use of resources.

All steps are now complete! Together with us, you can be confident that you are compliant with Danish producer responsibility regulations.
